Despite how many times we said his name, the return of Candyman proved not possible in 2020. Instead, the Jordan Peele-produced and Nia DaCosta-directed "spiritual sequel" to the cult classic horror film has now been dated for a 2021 release.
The film will now arrive on August 27, 2021 — 11 months after its originally planned release date of September 25.
As previously reported, Candyman follows the 1992 horror classic, with Tony Todd returning as the film's titular character. He's joined by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen) and Teyonah Parris.
