Grimes' mom, Sandy Garossino, is not pleased with Elon Musk — and she had no problem voicing it on Twitter this past weekend.
In a since-deleted tweet Sunday night (May 17), Garossino had some choice words to the father of her grandson.
Her post read, "If your partner went through a challenging pregnancy and childbirth in the last two weeks... And you were over 16 years old, would you be blaring MRA bullshit on Twitter right now?"
Garossino was referring to Musk's recent tweet that read "Take the red pill." The phrase was first coined by the Wachowski sisters in The Matrix, but has since been co-opted by the conservative right, as well as men's rights activists, to indicate a type of awakening to the "truth" about society.
Earlier on Sunday, Ivanka Trump quoted Musk's "red pill" tweet, adding, "Taken!" to the dismay of Lilly Wachowski — who made it abundantly clear she does not approve of the phrase being used in this way.
Responding to both Musk and Trump, Wachowski wrote, "Fuck both of you."
Was Musk trying to stir the pot with this tweet? Who knows for sure. Regardless of his intentions, that is exactly what he did.
