Over the weekend, Saturday Night Live announced its May 8 show will be hosted by Grimes' partner/controversial billionaire Elon Musk — and some cast members have made it clear they aren't pleased with the situation.

Bowen Yang, Aidy Bryant and Andrew Dismukes all responded to the casting choice over Instagram, while Grimes has defended the father of her child in a new TikTok post.

Yang, who was the most vocal about his disapproval, reacted to the news with a frowning emoji on his stories. After Musk tweeted "Let's find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is," Yang responded, "What the fuck does this even mean?" in another story.

Bryant responded to the news by posting a tweet from Bernie Sanders about the "moral obscenity" of the Top 50 richest Americans hoarding the country's wealth, Musk included.

Dismukes brought the jokes, posting a photo of former SNL regular Cheri Oteri to his stories and writing: "ONLY CEO I WANT TO DO A SKETCH WITH IS CHER-E OTERI."

Some fans have also voiced their distaste for the Telsa CEO's involvement, with some suggesting that the SNL team allow Miley Cyrus to pull double duty as the show's host and performer on May 8. Meanwhile, others suggested Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Martin Shkreli and "that U2 album that showed up on everyone's iPhone" as understudies.
