Women Offshoot Cindy Lee Unveil 'Act of Tenderness'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 24, 2015

While two of the surviving members of Calgary post-rock outfit Women are currently travelling the globe with their new band, Viet Cong, Patrick Flegel has been putting work into a project called Cindy Lee out in Vancouver. Following a pair of limited-edition releases, a debut full-length titled Act of Tenderness arrives this October via CCQSK Enterprises.

News of the LP comes through Vancouver music retailer Horses Records' Instagram account. Though the album officially lands this fall, Horses is currently selling a few test presses. The record store — co-run by Peace's Dan Geddes, who had at one point performed in Cindy Lee — describes the collection as "a fucked up noisy masterpiece."

Samples from the set have yet to arrive online, but you can check out the full tracklisting info for Act of Tenderness down below.

Act of Tenderness is being delivered in a pressing of 200. According to CCQSK, 25 "advance copies" are currently up for grabs via Horses.

Flegel's Cindy Lee had previously issued the eight-song Tatlashea on cassette at the end of 2012, but the tape release has since sold out. The EP's "Hold the Devil's Hand" had also appeared on a split 7-inch with Red Mass in 2013. You can stream Tatlashea below, or pick up a digital copy via Bandcamp.
