In addition to contributing to Bruce Peninsula, Toronto folksinger Tamara Lindeman has released a pair of albums with her project the Weather Station. It's under this moniker that she will launch a collaborative series of duets, and she's already got a few talented friends on board.
The first three contributors to the series are Daniel Romano (who produced the Weather Station 2011 album All of It Was Mine), Marine Dreams (a.k.a. Ian Kehoe of Attack in Black), and Baby Eagle (a.k.a. Steve Lambke of Constantines).
Each of these collaborations has resulted in a two-song single, which will be released through You've Changed Records on February 12. They will be available digitally and as a download accompaniment to postcards. The postcards include text written by Lindeman discussing the collaboration. The Marine Dreams-featuring "First Letter" is streaming at the bottom of this page.
The series is described in a press release as being "ongoing and open-ended," so we can expect more two-song singles soon. Future contributors to the series include Simone Schmidt (Fiver, One Hundred Dollars), Will Kidman (Constantines, Woolly Leaves), Matt Cully (Bruce Peninsula), Misha Bower (Bruce Peninsula, Music for Uninvited Guests), and Ryan Driver (Deep Dark United, the Silt).
