At long last: after their acclaimed cover of Tame Impala's "Elephant" for Triple J's Like a Version series proved that 2021 was the year of the cover song, the Wiggles and Kevin Parker have teamed up for a live performance.
In a true demonstration of Australian excellence, Parker made a two-song appearance at the beloved children's band's concert at the RAC Arena in Perth yesterday (April 10).
He joined the Wiggles for their renowned version of "Elephant" (complete with the "Fruit Salad" interlude — yummy yummy!) and "Hot Potato." It's worth noting that playing the latter song was conditional for the psych rocker getting to keep his Wiggles outfit and guitar.
"When I got the invitation, I knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so it was an obvious yes," the Tame Impala mastermind said of the onstage collaboration. "The Wiggles are the real rockstars in this world. I was pretty nervous!"
Watch the performance below while you enjoy a hot potato and/or cold spaghetti.
Tame Impala shared new track "The Boat I Row" back in February and teased that a new album is coming sooner than you think. Last month, the Wiggles shared their massive covers collection ReWiggled.
