Toronto hip-hop/R&B duo TRP.P have announced that they're going on hiatus, and they're saying goodbye with a video for their Mirror Soul track "Let Me Go."

A press release notes that, following five years as TRP.P, members Truss and pHoenix Pagliacci are putting the project on pause and going back to solo work. "I've literally had this entire time to grow and become myself. I've learned so much, and I'm just excited to reintroduce people to me," Truss said in a statement.

In regards to whether this hiatus is permanent, Pagliacci said, "If this pandemic has taught us anything, it's that nothing is permanent, time is a construct and music is forever. I have a few more things I need to say as pHoenix, but no matter what, TRP.P is forever."

Watch the video for "Let Me Go" below. It was directed by Meeka McLean, and offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of Truss and Pagliacci (who are partners in life as well as music), capturing a difficult moment in their lives inspired by the lockdowns at the early stage of the pandemic. Pagliacci said, "I was crying by the end of almost every take. I hate fighting with Truss. So doing it over and over again, even in a controlled environment, was really hard."

Watch it below. TRP.P will play Hamilton, ON's Fresh Up R&B Festival on November 19.
