Following a few piano-heavy demo tracks, Vancouver-bred singer-songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. has unveiled the first single to his forthcoming debut LP for True Panther Sounds, a hopeless ballad about breaking into the industry called "Hollywood."
Glacially-paced piano chords open up and echo throughout the arrangement, with Jesso using a plaintive set of pipes to summarize his hopes and dreams of trying to make it as a songwriter in Tinseltown ("I don't think I can fake it if they tell me I'm no good / Think I'm going to fry in Hollywood"). You'll find the Randy Newman-styled composition, produced by former Girls member Chet "JR" White, down below.
True Panther reports the as-yet-undetailed debut LP lands this spring.
