The 20th anniversary of the White Stripes' classic album Elephant is coming up, and with Third Man Records already celebrating the occasion with a mono remix, the label has now announced a more traditional reissue as well.
Elephant will be reissued in two forms: as a deluxe digital edition with remastered audio and a 27-song live album, and in a snazzy-looking vinyl pressing featuring coloured LPs described as "red smoke" and "clear with red and black smoke." It also appears to feature an alternate album cover with Jack wearing an all-white ensemble. This colourful vinyl pressing features the standard tracklist without any of the bonuses.
The digital version is out on March 31, the day before the anniversary on April 1. The vinyl pressing arrives on April 21 and can be pre-ordered from Third Man.
The live recording that comes with the digital version was captured at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom on July 2, 2003. Below, watch a video for that night's performance of "The Hardest Button to Button"; the video consists of concert photos from the era, and not an actual video from the night.
