The Roots Set to Work on New 'Endgame' Album

Having kept themselves busy with a wealth of other music-related projects, the Roots have revealed that they are currently at work in the studio on the follow-up to 2014's ...And Then You Shoot Your Cousin.

Tentatively titled Endgame (or perhaps End Game), Questlove dropped snippets of a studio session on his Instagram account late yesterday (October 17) that show Stro Elliot chopping up some guitar recordings.

Questlove explained in his post that the recording process is reminiscent of how 1996's Illadelph Halflife came together, where the band "decided to be our own sampling source and jam in the day and sample ourselves at night." Jazz drummer Karriem Riggins also shared his involvement with the sessions.
