The Make-Up Unveil 2019 Reunion Tour, Reissue 'Save Yourself'

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Sep 19, 2019

Cult D.C. punk heroes the Make-Up are once again getting together for a reunion tour in 2019, with Ian Svenonius and co. set to embark on a fall tour. What's more, the group are treating their classic 1999 album Save Yourself to a reissue.

Following the band's dissolution in 2000, they reunited again back in 2012. Since then, the Make-Up have made a sporadic array of reunion appearances, and this fall they will play a series of shows in the U.S.

Staring on October 24 in Philadelphia, the group will hit various U.S. cities, including New York City, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and Washington, D.C. They will not, unfortunately, be hitting Canada on the run.

As for the Save Yourself reissue, the out-of-print album will come back to vinyl through Black Gemini Records/Dischord on October 4. It will arrive on black vinyl and as a limited-edition plum colour edition via mail order.

As a press release explains: "This is the LP which transformed record technology and ears alike with twisted turners like 'Make Me a Feelin Man,' 'Call Me Mommy,' 'I Am Pentagon,' 'Save Yourself.' It's a cosmic collision of fuzz and fury and it's back in stock, back on the shelves, available for pre-order now from Dischord Direct."
