Belle Game were announced as the winners of the 2019 Prism Prize at a ceremony in Toronto last night (May 13).
The Vancouver indie-pop band took home the Canadian music video prize for the Kevan Funk-directed clip "Low." They were awarded the Prism Prize trophy and $15,000.
The decision was announced after being narrowed down from 20 and then 10 finalists.
In addition to the 2019 Prism Prize, the Audience Award was also given out last night, and it went to Said the Whale's "UnAmerican" video.
Other honours from the night included the Prism Prize Special Achievement Award to Lacey Duke (honouring a Canadian music video artist for their artistic achievements and exceptional contribution to music video art on a world stage), the Lipsett Award to Soleil Denault (recognizing an innovative and unique approach to music video art) and the Hi-Fidelity Award to Clairmont The Second (for exhibiting a strong visual identity through music video).
All award recipients also received $2,500 grants from William F. White production equipment rentals and a gift bag from MAC cosmetics.
The remaining Top 10 finalists also received $500 cash rewards, courtesy of Slaight Music.
