B.C.-born, UK-based synth mutator Soft Riot (a.k.a. Jack Duckworth) has been producing some pretty surreal visuals to support his sophomore LP, You Never Know What Might Come Next, and his latest video is no different. "You Are a Caged Dancer" is full of body part-riddled landscapes and elegant, if entrapped, choreography.
Directed by Duckworth, it finds the electronic musician staggering across digital plains full of massive, grasping hands and undulating, mountainous shapes. Elsewhere, he sings the tune as whirl of ballet dancers ply their bodies across the screen.
All of this is scored by "You Are a Caged Dancer," a piece that, at times, sounds like a goth club revamp of the Police's "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic."
Beautifully bizarre as the song it supports, the video for "You Are a Caged Dancer" can be found below. It follows previous singles "You Never Know What Might Come Next" and "For Your Entertainment."
