After playing a pair of dates in Alberta earlier in the year, Slayer have announced they're coming back to Canada on their next leg of dates supporting 2015's thrashed-out Repentless release. Better yet, they're bringing fellow Big Four band Anthrax and esteemed metal vets Death Angel with them.
A press release confirms that the "mighty triumvirate" connect in September for a two-month tour that will see them banging their way through various U.S. and Canadian venues. On the northern side of things, they'll first be heading into Toronto and Montreal. Following a few more U.S. dates, they cross into Alberta for a show in Lethbridge and the pop over to BC for concerts in Penticton and Abbotsford.
As noted, the lineup reunites titans Slayer and Anthrax — two of the legendary Big Four of thrash metal — on the road.
"It's always super fun for us to tour with Anthrax," Slayer six-stringer Kerry King said in a statement. "Frank [Bello, bassist] is one of my best friends in the biz!! Put that together with Death Angel, and fans will probably see the best package this year."
It's also worth nothing that even though Death Angel have been whipping it hard since the '80s, this marks the first time ever that they have been on tour with Slayer. The openers seem honoured to take part in the Slaytanic festivities.
"This will be Death Angel's first-ever tour with Slayer, something we've hungered for our entire career," longtime vocalist Mark Osegueda said in a statement. "And we will bring that hunger to the stage every night, so get there early because this will be a show not to be missed; from the first note of the night until the very last! Metal is alive, hungry, thriving, and coming for you!"
You'll find all of the date details below, along with a teaser video for the trip and Slayer's recent, gore-heavy video for Repentless track "You Against You."
