Now in its 18th year, Shambhala Music Festival will be returning to BC's Salmo River Valley from August 7 to 10 — and organizers have just unveiled this year's headliners.
The electronic music and camping festival has named Kygo, Pretty Lights and Skrillex as this year's headliners, atop a bill that include more than 300 artists.
Big Gigantic, Bonobo, Camo & Krooked, Claude VonStroke, Crnkn, Datsik, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Harvey, Dusky, Koan Sound, Kry Wolf, Lucent Dossier Experience, Griz, Mix Master Mike, MK, Mr. Carmack, Tipper, Thomas Jack and Zomboy have also been awarded slots at the festival.
The festival's acts are divided amongst six stages, each with its own curator and specific theme. This year's Pagoda Stage features "some of the most beautiful, melodic and uplifting dance music in the world today, from the funkier side of bass music to the crunchier side of house," while the Village Stage will showcase drum and bass, trap, glitch-hop, hip-hop and dubstep. The Fractal Forest Stage will house old-school hip-hop and house, the Living Room Stage will feature "the deepest of dub, zouk, bass, disco funk, house and Latin flavours," and the Amphitheatre is described as the "most eclectic" with everything from urban beats to future bass. Finally, the fest's newest stage — the Grove Stage — will present world bass, deep dub step and garage.
You can see an extended list of performers on the poster pictured above, and head over here to read about the lineup in detail. More artists, as well as day-by-day schedules and stage allocations, are expected to be announced on March 30.
