Hardcore collective SECT are surprising fans today with a new album, Blood of the Beasts.
The supergroup — comprising members of Cursed, Burning Love, Earth Crisis, Catharsis and more — dropped the 10-track record with no previous indication new material was arriving.
As with their last album, 2017's No Cure for Death, Blood of the Beasts was recorded at GodCity with Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou who also performed clean guitar on the song "Skies Wide Shut."
Vocalist Chris Colohan calls the new record "10 reflections on the myth of progress, the new old tribalism, the single face of all subjugations, the broken promise of automation, love, loss and obsolescence, set against the dying light of a better tomorrow."
Along with the new album, the band are also delivering a video for lead track "Like Animals."
You can stream the entire album and check out the video below.
Blood of the Beasts is now out on CD and vinyl via Southern Lord, and you can order it here.
