Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Sam Smith has decided to push the release of their new album to an undecided date in the future. What's more, Smith will also be changing the title of the record, which was previously dubbed To Die For.

The artist announced their plans to delay/change the album via Twitter earlier today, stating that they "have done a lot of thinking the last few weeks and feel that the title of the album and imminent release doesn't feel right."

While they have yet to set a new release date or title, Smith did promise that the record would be out in 2020.

"Don't worry though," they wrote, "There will be an album this year, I promise!"

To Die For was initially scheduled to be released on May 1 via Capitol Records and would have been their follow-up to 2017's The Thrill of It All.
