London, ON punks Red Arms are set to drop their new EP Welcome to the New Cold War this weekend, but Exclaim! has got an exclusive early stream for your listening pleasure.
The five-track set is packed with noisy guitar hooks, heavy drum fills and a healthy dose of distortion. From the melodic opening of "Chorus of Life" to the closing shout-along scorcher "Takin' a Ride," the EP has no interest in giving listeners time to catch their breath. It pummels the ear with hard-rockin' riffs from start to finish, leaving no room for dull moments or dead air.
The band was formed back in 2013 by Eric Longtin and Roberto LoRusso, though they've since filled out their sound with the help of Zon Hoffman and Geoffrey Stratton.
The four-piece will deliver the Welcome to the New Cold War EP on special edition cassettes, which are due out on Saturday (February 21) via Curt Murder Fan Club. Only 25 copies are being pressed, and they'll be available at the group's show that evening at Call the Office in London.
For now, though, you can stream the EP in its entirety below.
