The Anthony Kiedis biopic is finally happening. The long-rumoured adaptation of his Scar Tissue memoir is set to begin shooting in Atlanta in early 2025.
That's right, Atlanta — not Los Angeles, the city where the Red Hot Chili Peppers singer very, very famously comes from. There will presumably be lots of establishing shots of the ocean and the Hollywood sign.
The news comes via The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which reports that that the shoot was confirmed in an email from the union IATSE local 479 to its members. It's not confirmed who will be playing Kiedis, or what stage(s) of his life the film will cover.
It's currently titled Scar Tissue, after Kiedis's 2004 memoir. Back in 2011, there were reports that HBO was developing a series called Spider and Son about Kiedis's upbringing with father Blackie Dammett, an actor and reported drug dealer to the stars in Hollywood.
