Pusha T to Release 'Darkest Before Dawn' Album Next Month

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 23, 2015

Pusha T has been talking about a new album called King Push for a couple of years now. Now, he's changed his plans somewhat, since he's reportedly going to release an album called Darkest Before Dawn on December 18.

This news was confirmed by Noisey. Even better, Darkest Before Dawn is just a prelude to King Push, which will follow in the spring. Production will be provided by Kanye West, Puff Daddy, Timbaland, Q-Tip, Baauer and Nashiem Myrick. (It's not exactly clear if these names are attached to Darkest Before Dawn or King Push, or both.)

UPDATE (11/25, 1:30 p.m.): A press release confirms that Darkest Before Dawn will feature collaborations with Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, The-Dream, Jill Scott, Kehlani and Beanie Sigel. There is also production from Kanye, Hudson Mohawke, Pharrell, Q-Tip, Timbaland and Diddy. The album will be paired with a short film, and you can see a trailer for it below.

Pusha T said, "I've been recording so much — I didn't want to break up that body of work. I feel like I had the producers doing things that they weren't usually known for, a little out of their wheelhouse. I wanted to give the fans that body of work. That's the music I love, and that's the music that my fans love from me. Instead of having those moments throughout King Push, let's just separate the game."
