Pusha T Names Next Album 'King Push,' Plots January Recording Session with the Neptunes

Pusha T's 2013 solo effort, My Name Is My Name, earned across-the-board rave reviews, and we here at Exclaim! named it the second best hip-hop album of the year. Now the Clipse rapper has already set his sights on the follow-up.

Speaking with Miss Info last night (December 17) for Apple's "Meet the Musician" Q&A series, Pusha T revealed that he will be working with the Neptunes in early 2014. He told the audience at New York's SoHo Apple Store, "I don't know when I'm dropping the next one, but I can tell everybody, January 2, me, Pharrell [Williams] and Chad [Hugo] are going in the studio for 20 days."

The sessions will take place in Miami. Pusha T noted, "That's what's going to start off the King Push album."

When queried, he confirmed that the album title will indeed be King Push; that's the same name as the opening track from My Name Is My Name.

Watch him talk about the impending studio session below.

We're not sure how far along the album will be after 20 days with the Neptunes, and obviously even Pusha T doesn't know what the timeline will be regarding its release. Fans can rest assured, however, that the record is on the way.
