Pole Returns with 'Wald'

BY Josiah HughesPublished May 21, 2015

German performer Stefan Betke has been making forward-thinking electronic music under the Pole moniker since 1998, but he hasn't released a standard full-length album since 2007's Steingarten. That'll change shortly, as the artist has recently announced plans for a new LP.

Called Wald, the release follows Pole's 2011 Waldgeschicten trilogy and his 2012 Roll the Dice collaboration. The album is a 50-minute-long piece split into three acts, with each of those divided into three tracks. In other words, we're guessing it's a nine-song release.

The artist hasn't offered up a tracklisting or release date just yet, but it's expected to arrive in mid-September via his own Pole Music imprint.

Minute-long snippets of the songs "Kautz" and "Käfer" can both be streamed below. In addition, Pole will debut Wald in a live setting soon, beginning with his appearance at MUTEK next week.
