Lync's original is now accompanied by a cover from David Bazan

Lync are reissuing a track from their 1994 album These Are Not Fall Colors with the help of Pedro the Lion's David Bazan. The split 7-inch single for "B" features Lync's original and a cover from Bazan.

While the digital single arrives today (September 24), the 7-inch single is out November 1 via Suicide Squeeze. Pre-order it on the label's website, and listen to both tracks below.

The single follows vocalist Sam Jayne's death in 2020. "I'm not sure if there are many covers of Lync songs out there. Sam's vocals shred, and the push/pull of the music can blur together at times, so I imagine it's difficult to land on an approach," Lync's James Bertram said via press release.

He continued: "David's version of this track is a great take, a really awesome minimal contrast to the original and so cool to hear. It's flattering to be able to share a split release with PTL all these years later, and I think Sam would love it too."

Pedro the Lion released Santa Cruz, the third of their trio of comeback records, earlier this year.
