PACKS have announced their third record. Melt the Honey — the band's second effort in less than a year — arrives January 19 via Fire Talk.
The follow-up to Crispy Crunchy Nothing — an Exclaim! Staff Pick — was recorded in Mexico last March, split between Mexico City and Xalapa at a house known as Casa Pulpo. "The house has no straight lines, it puts you in a creative mindset," said PACKS bandleader Madeline Link in a press release. "Plus, it was really warm, we were there for three weeks enjoying the weather and self-recording with minimal equipment."
With the announcement, PACKS have shared lead single "Honey" alongside its music video. Of the track, Link said, "I wrote this song while I was living in a tiny beach town in Chile, nestled between two hills. They don't have maple syrup down there so we'd have honey instead. To keep the honey from burning you have to melt it a special way! As this developed into a habit, I think I was struck by how cute it was."
PACKS have also shared that they'll be on tour with Geese in North America this October, where they'll stop in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Later in the fall, they'll join Slow Pulp on a jaunt across Europe.
