Odonis Odonis Announce New Album 'Spectrums'

Listen to "Salesmen" and "Get Out" now

Toronto industrial outfit Odonis Odonis have never stuck to a sound for too long, from the moody synthscapes of 2016's Post Plague to the industrial rattle of 2017's No Pop and 2019's Reaction EP. Now, they're continuing their sonic explorations with their upcoming fifth album, Spectrums, due in October via Felte Records. Though a specific release date is yet to be revealed, the group have shared the tracklist and two songs from the new album.

Now a duo composed of founding members Dean Tzenos and Denholm Whale following the departure of Jarod Gibson, a press release states, "Embracing a love of '80s goth and darkwave melodicism while maintaining an industrial strength intensity, the dualities of their sound are revealed in a striking new light." This can be heard in two new singles, "Get Out" and album closer "Salesmen."

The pair serve as the first in a series of themed single drops leading up to the record; each set of tracks have been assigned a colour that corresponds with their mood. According to the press release, "The distorted red thump of 'Get Out' and 'Salesmen' pushes towards danger and anger but also blooms with passion and life." This contrasts with "the icy blue shades of 'Impossible' [that] merge the band's feelings of fear, hope and trust," "the purple pop of 'More' and 'Laced in Leather' [that] mark the duo's greatest musical leap into influences from Depeche Mode and New Order" and "the blackness of 'Shadow Play.'"
