According to the NBC, at least 19 people were injured at the memorial and taken to hospital when mourners tried to flee the scene. Two were reported to be in critical condition, including one who had been struck by a vehicle. Two other people were reported to be in serious condition, while another was stabbed.
Loud noises were heard, prompting many of those gathered to evacuate the area, though it's unclear what caused the commotion. Los Angeles police have since ruled initial reports of gunshots to be inaccurate.

Reports of shots fired at the vigil do not appear to be accurate. We do have injured in the chaos and are attempting to restore order.

Majority of the injuries, however, were less severe, with official treating a variety of trample-related injuries.
Informally initial report by LA Fire identifying 12 treated at scene, one transported. No clear nature of that injury. Many treated on scene for sprained ankles.
