Montreal-born singer-songwriter Laraw has released pop rock anthem "Scissors," chronicling what it means to be the forgotten and ignored lover.

Following the release of last year's single "This Is How I Lost My Friends," the musician's account of the realities of a tumultuous relationship has kept in accordance with her own raw and personal approach to production and sound design.

"Nothing can reflect who you are and what you have been through like a chorus," Laraw shared of her songwriting. "Even if it's just a word or a sound that is repeated, I believe music can represent what I'm always going after: the truth."

Of the new single, she added: "'Scissors' is about the grief of having a loved one completely destroy you; knowing that they will and just letting it happen." According to the artist, it's the most important song she's written thus far and marks a new chapter in her life: "I got to actually meet myself, grow and learn that the first person you should always love is yourself."

With a catchy melody and punchy, unforgettable chorus, the emotionally-driven track seems to be ushering in one angsty summer.
