Don’t Wake Me Up

BY Scott IngramPublished Dec 1, 1999

The cover recalls Eric’s Trip’s first album, Love Tara — black and white framed photograph, title in black ink on a solid white background. The sparsely arranged, delicate, yet dark songs with the breathy vocals and the lo-fi sound also remind me of Eric’s Trip, or early Elevator to Hell. So did the feedback. When I opened up the CD booklet and the collage of artistic photos (black and white interspersed with colour) were strongly reminiscent of Eric’s Trip’s second album, Forever Again. The black and white artwork on the CD itself had an Elevator to Hell feel. That all being said, I liked listening to the album, but, truth be told, I could never remember a song while the album wasn’t playing. It would be fair to call this a decent album, but it is not the most memorable one.
