Michael Feuerstack Announces 'The Forgettable Truth' LP, Shares New Track

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 25, 2014

Michael Feuerstack released his debut album under his own name just last year, but the prolific Canadian songwriter is already prepping his third album. The Forgettable Truth will be out on February 17 through Forward Music Group.

This follows this spring's Singer Songer and 2013's Tambourine Death Bed, but while the former found Feuerstack recruiting other vocalists to deliver his songs, this one brings him back to a more traditional approach. It was recorded at Feuerstack's house and at Montreal's Hotel2Tango.

The Forgettable Truth features accompaniment from keyboardist Pietro Amato (of Bell Orchestre and the Luyas), drummer Mike Belyea (of Jenn Grant's band), bassist Peter Xirogiannis, and string player Sebastian Chow. Guest vocals came courtesy of Little Scream and the Olympic Symphonium's Nick Cobham.

A press release calls the album "a journey posing answerless questions, shining light into dark corners, and binding classic songwriting to adventurous musicality."

That's the album cover above. Scroll past the tracklist below to hear "Clackity Clack," which is a quietly atmospheric, nocturnal ballad. Also below, watch a short video teaser, which features more restrained music and shows a kid skateboarding with a small guitar amp.
