Lil Wayne has gathered the Young Money family for a new single titled "Thug Life." Bringing in Jay Jones and Gudda Gudda for the track, "Thug Life" has also been treated to its very own fun-loving skateboarding music video.
The track was produced by Ty Dolla $ign and Dante, while the Ricky Willis-directed video was shot inside Lil Wayne's personal skatepark and features animation by Olivia Cohen, as well as by Wayne himself.
"This was the first music video I was asked to shoot for Wayne, I didn't find out about it until the day of the shoot," Willis explained of the high-pressure project. "When asking if there were any shot ideas I was told, 'It's whatever you want, Wayne says you'll kill it.'"
Earlier this year, Wayne dropped the deluxe edition of his 2020 album, Funeral. "Thug Life" marks his first release since the dropped the record back in May.
