If there's one thing Lil Nas X loves, it's CGI-heavy Christian imagery. And, as the old saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it — the new video for the pop star's comeback single "J CHRIST" is sort of the platonic ideal of a Lil Nas video, featuring vast computer-generated landscapes that see him run through a series of biblical vignettes (including playing basketball against the devil).
As its title suggests, the song itself is "DEDICATED TO THE MAN WHO HAD THE GREATEST COMEBACK OF ALL TIME!" and it finds Lil Nas X celebrating his own comeback, with a chorus that asks, "Is he 'bout to give 'em something viral?" I guess we'll see!
Nas's debut full-length MONTERO spawned two No. 1 songs after the success of "Old Town Road," so I wouldn't put it past him to nab another hit.
Nas co-wrote "J CHRIST" with Omer Fedi, Gesaffelstein and Blake Slatkin, and co-produced it with Fedi and Gesaffelstein. He self-directed the video, which you can check out below.
