Toronto pop-punk singer LØLØ has released her new single "omg" and an accompanying music video via Hopeless Records.
The new track opens more gently than her typical head-banging production, with a lightly plucked acoustic guitar underscoring contemplative vocals. Electric guitar breaks up the melancholy as it comes crashing in on the chorus, but LØLØ says that the message remains just as tender:
"omg" was written by blurting out a bunch of intrusive thoughts. The song aims to capture what the hell is going on inside my head at any given moment. I wanted the production to match the extreme highs and lows of feeling okay, and then really NOT okay only a moment later. The feelings of being lost in a dream and then feeling like the biggest failure to grace this earth a second later. Of happiness & awesomeness, and of disappointment & insecurity.
"omg" arrives on the heels of LØLØ's 2022 EP debbie downer and recent single "5, 6, 7, 8" with Travis Mills-led collective girlfriends.
