Kid Cudi was scheduled to embark on the INSANO: Engage the Rage world tour starting in late July, but the rapper has now been forced to cancel the run due to injury.
Over the weekend, Cudi performed at Coachella as a late addition to the Sahara Tent lineup. He cut the set short after falling while jumping off the stage and breaking his foot — now having revealed itself more specifically to be an injury to the calcaneus, which is the large bone that makes up the heel.
The artist shared the news with fans on social media today, writing, "I'm headed to surgery now and there's gonna be a long recovery time. We have to cancel the tour so I can focus on getting better to be out there in top shape to rage with you all. There's just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%."
"This injury is much more serious than I thought," Cudi admitted, adding "We will be back with new tour dates as soon as possible, and I can't wait to get back out there with you guys and turn up how we do." Ticketholders will be refunded.
The rapper had been slated to perform Canadian arena shows in Toronto and Montreal this July, and Vancouver in August. See Cudi's statement below, where he also shares that, despite some soreness, he's mostly in good spirits.
