Just a couple of days after Kelis let loose her spicy, Afrobeat-dabbling "Jerk Ribs" single, the Food track has been given some new flavours in a remix from UK duo Mount Kimbie.
Instead of the irresistibly danceable feel of the horns-spiked original, the front-end of the redo plays out with an ambient electronic rumble before ushering in Kelis's honey-smoked vocals. A clubbier tempo soon kicks in, though it still simmers on low with a series of electronic claps and clave taps, sensually slung synth melodies and a now pitch-shifted hook.
You can get a taste of the remix via the player down below. As previously reported, Food officially gets served up April 22 through Ninja Tune.
