Jlin has shared details of a new mini-album. The artist will deliver the six-track Perspective on September 29 via Planet Mu.

Following 2021 EP EmbryoPerspective brings together Pulitzer-nominated compositions the composer wrote for for Chicago-based, Grammy-winning percussion ensemble Third Coast Percussion (TCP). The six tracks included are original electronic versions of these works which TCP based their scores on.

"Fourth Perspective" is the first of these to arrive, and you can compare and contrast Jlin's electronic version with the acoustic performance by TCP in the players below.

Of the collaboration, Jlin said in a press release, "Working with TCP was a rewarding experience. I love their constant driving ambition. When I would go to their studio we would experiment as much as we could, and that to me is the beauty of composing."

Perspective is available to pre-save and pre-order in digital and six-track clear vinyl LP formats. A 10-track CD edition of the mini-album pairs its six songs with the four that make up the vinyl-only Embyro.

Later this month, Jlin will perform at Pitchfork Music Festival 2023.
