Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Kaytranada, Begonia, BAMBII, Cadence Weapon

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Jun 7, 2024

Welcome June! It's Canadian Music Week in Toronto, and in Edmonton, some people are hopeful for a Stanley Cup victory for those Oilers (or as I prefer to call them, Oily Boys). Cadence Weapon is certainly among the hopefuls, recording a new version of his song "Connor McDavid" for the occasion.

That's among the week's best new Canadian music, which also includes pleas — for enduring love and silence, respectively — from Begonia and BAMBII.

This week in album releases, we have the star-studded new Kaytranada album, as well as new collections from Casey MQ, Blue Hawaii and LØLØ. Super Duty Tough Work, who are bold enough to call out Exclaim!, are also bold enough to release an expanded deluxe version of last year's Paradigm Shift.

Elsewhere, PONY are keeping cool as "Freezer" makes our Staff Picks. Likewise, you'll find new music from Valley, Energy Slime, Heaven for Real, Arkells, Land of Talk, SUUNS, CJ Wiley, knitting, Kristin Witko, Caribou and Orville Peck — whew!

It's a jam-packed week on The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken — all Canadian and proud of it!
