If you hadn't quite made it out to Clinton, IA to check out Public Enemy hypeman Flavor Flav's fried chicken restaurant, you're out of luck: the rapper has just left the company.
While Flavor Flav's Chicken just opened this past January in Iowa, the restaurant was already struggling. A recent dispute with some disgruntled ex-employees called out the company for bounced pay cheques, and now the celebrity has been crying foul of his business partner, Nick Cimino.
After checking out how the business was being run, Flav decided to cut his losses, citing that the joint was being mismanaged.
"I had a licensing agreement with Nick Cimino and that's all we had. It was his business to run from there and the business was not run right," the rapper told TMZ.
While we already knew about the financial problems, Flav points to some unsavoury food concerns as well. Long story short, you may not want to chow down on that side of potato salad.
"Let me be straight up with you, I went up inside there on April 2 and I found potato salad that expired on February 28. And it's then when I realized I can't do business with this man and I really hope no one ate those potatoes," Flav added.
Though the hip-hop legend may have been soured on this particular food-related endeavour, his restaurateur days are hardly over: another eatery called Flavor Flav's House of Flavor is set to open in Las Vegas next month.
