Despite the minimal output between their 2020 debut Hunger for a Way Out and now, Sweeping Promises have managed to maintain their momentum. A first taste of their sophomore LP Good Living Is Coming for You, "Eraser" encapsulates everything the band does best. Their specific brand of lo-fi post-punk is bolstered by its pop sensibilities, with singer Lira Mondal's melodic howls driving the track.
The accessible coolness of "Eraser" matches its narrator's apprehension for its subject: Someone who preys on the sharpness of others, in turn becoming the mean one themselves. An ounce of self-reflection may have saved them, but at this point, it's too late.
