Their latest is the third release from the band's upcoming album 'Future Past'

Earlier this year, new wave icons Duran Duran announced their new album Future Past, the band's first record in six years and the follow-up to 2015's Paper Gods

And today, they're previewing the forthcoming effort with the swirling and celebratory "Anniversary," their third single from Future Past after "Invisible" and "More Joy!," which featured Japanese pop wizards CHAI. As to be expected from Duran Duran, the new song is a brash, saturated '80s stomper.

Bassist John Taylor described the single as a nod to the band's own 40th anniversary, saying:

"Anniversary" is a special song for us. Obviously, we were conscious of our own impending 40th anniversary of making music together, but we wanted the song's meaning to be inclusive in the broadest possible way.

After playing and working together for so long, we very much appreciate what "being together" and "staying together" can really mean, it's not something we would have thought song-worthy 40 years ago but we do today!

It was also fun to build a track with hints of previous Duran hits, they're like Easter eggs, for the fans to find.

Future Past is out on October 22 via Tape Modern/BMG, and will reportedly feature collaborations with Tove Lo, Ivorian Doll and Mike Garson, in addition to previously announced contributions by Giorgio MoroderMark RonsonBlur guitarist Graham CoxonLykke Li and more.
