Prolific Canadian singer-songwriter and producer Dan Boeckner — of Wolf Parade, Operators, Divine Fits, Handsome Furs, etc. — has announced a new solo project, which will simply be known as Boeckner. His debut album under his surname will be released early next year on Sub Pop, marking his first new music since Wolf Parade's 2020 offering, Thin Mind.
There's yet to be any music released or any firm details about a release date, but Sub Pop shared the news in a press release, with label co-founder Jonathan Poneman saying, "Welcoming Dan to the Sub Pop family is always a thrill."
Boeckner, who produced labelmates Kiwi Jr.'s 2022 album Chopper despite a head injury, also talked about the project during a recent appearance on the And Introducing podcast with Chris Wade of Chapo Trap House and Molly Mary O'Brien. You can listen to that below.
