After revealing that he had come down with a case of COVID-19, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor's partner and Cherry Bombs member Alicia Taylor shared that he is "doing well" amid his recovery.
She wrote on Twitter: "Ready to get [Corey] home as soon as it's safe, so I can take care of him! He (very luckily) hasn't lost his sense of taste or smell so I send him stupid amounts of snacks, hydration powders, and yummy desserts."
Despite being vaccinated, the frontman revealed on Friday (August 20) that he contracted the virus, and was forced to cancel several upcoming performances as a result. Taylor announced his diagnosis in a video on the Facebook page for Astronomicon, a Michigan event he was scheduled to play over the weekend.
"I should be okay, it's the flu," the musician said in the clip. "I'm vaccinated, so I'm not worried. But I certainly wouldn't want to spread it to anyone else. So, everybody be safe out there and thank you so much. And I will see you again, I promise."
While breakthrough cases of coronavirus remain rare, "about 5 out of every 100 people could still get infected after 2 doses of an mRNA vaccine" [via canada.ca]. Your chances of contracting the virus can be further mitigated by continuing to practice physical distancing and by wearing a mask in public.
