Toronto pop songwriter and breakout quarantine star Casey MQ released his album babycasey last year, and now he's following it up with a remix collection called babycasey: ultra. It's out on October 29 through Cascine.
The 15-song album features remixes, edits and covers from a cast of collaborators, including a l l i e, Avalon Emerson, Hannah Diamond and Bell Towers. The lead single is a cover of "What About Us" by returning Casey MQ collaborator oklou.
"This is so much about taking that childhood innocence — such a big part of babycasey — to stratospheric heights," Casey said of ultra's many contributors. "It was so fun to hear people sing the songs and have them in their voice to see how it changes and the feeling of what it can sound like."
He added, "I just loved how people interpret it, opening each song up into a new universe, it all seems so instinctual to their worlds and expands the stadium universe that babycasey: ultra was meant to be."
