Canadian Culture to Be Explored with New Series 'The Chesterfield'

Alanis Obomsawin, Fred Penner, George Stroumboulopoulos, Sloan's Chris Murphy, Fly Lady Di and more will take part

A host of notable Canadian artists will discuss the inspiration and importance of Canadian culture in a new interview series from FRIENDS of Canadian Broadcasting.

The Chesterfield, hosted by iskwē and music journalist Ben Rayner, will premiere October 6 on YouTube and run weekly for 12 episodes. You can watch a teaser for the series below.

Each 15-minute instalment will find the pair interviewing prominent Canadian musicians, authors, filmmakers, comedians and more, exploring their guest's favourite book, film, record, painting or other Canadian creation as part of a larger discussion about the importance of appreciating the country's cultural gifts.

Guests set to appear on the show's inaugural run include Alanis Obomsawin, Fred Penner, Sloan's Chris Murphy, Jann Arden, Arkells frontman Max Kerman, George Stromboulopoulos, Fly Lady Di (a.k.a. Diana Reyes), Ali Hassan, David A. Robertson, Jeff Lemire, Michael de Adder and Catherine MacLellan
