New Burial Music Teased by XL Recordings

The elusive producer shared only one single in 2023

New music from Burial could be with listeners imminently if a tease from XL Recordings is anything to go by.

Ringing in 2024 on New Year's Day (January 1), the label shared a snippet of audio alongside a graphic featuring the label logo superimposed over that of the elusive South London artist.

A second tease of the graphic featuring different audio was also shared via Instagram, and you can find both posts below. Notably, the music heard prominently features drums, eschewing the ambient, minimal nature of recent Burial releases like 2022's Antidawn and Streetlands EPs.

Burial's most recent involvement with XL Recordings came with 2020's "Her Revolution" and "His Rope," a double single made with Four Tet and Radiohead's Thom Yorke. In addition to his longtime label home of Hyperdub, the producer has also released music via Keysound Recordings, Nonplus Records and Text Records.

In 2023, Burial released a split single with Kode9, which they had teased with billboards in London prior to its release. His most recent full-length remains 2007's Untrue.
