With the WGA strike having finally come to an end last week, late-night TV shows — your Jimmys and what have you — have returned in full, writer-fuelled force. Which also means musicians are performing on them again!
Fresh off of playing Madison Square Garden amid their blockbuster tour, recent Exclaim! cover stars boygenius brought their masc angel-choir steez to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night (October 3), delivering an intimate performance of "Cool About It" from the record.
The supergroup of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus gathered 'round a single mic, Baker touting a banjo and Bridgers playing an acoustic guitar, their signature vocal blend the highlight of the melancholic tune's otherwise sparse, finger-plucked arrangement.
Watch the lovely rendition below.
The boys are set to release a new EP called the rest next Friday (October 13).
