On Super Bowl Sunday, Beyoncé managed to upstage the game when she announced the second act in her RENAISSANCE trilogy, kicking off her country era with new songs "16 CARRIAGES" and the Franklin theme-biting "TEXAS HOLD 'EM." At the time, she was calling the album Act II, but now she's shared the album's official title — COWBOY CARTER.
Act II: COWBOY CARTER arrives March 29, but Beyoncé has already made history with the album — "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first Black woman ever to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. It's her ninth chart-topper and first since "Break My Soul."
If you're not already hype enough about the album, Dolly Parton recently revealed to Knox News that Beyoncé has likely either covered or interpolated Parton's classic "Jolene" on COWBOY CARTER, telling the publication, "I think it's probably gonna be on her country album, which I'm very excited about that."
