Architects have shared details of their tenth studio LP. The English metalcore crew will deliver new album the classic symptoms of a broken spirit on October 21 via Epitaph.
Following last year's For Those Who Wish to Exist, the classic symptoms of a broken spirit was produced by drummer-lyricist Dan Searle and guitarist Josh Middleton, with additional production from vocalist Sam Carter.
While its predecessor was largely created in COVID-19 isolation, the classic symptoms of a broken spirit got the five-piece back together in the same room, leading to a set of songs Searle characterizes as "free, playful and spontaneous" in spite of tracks titled "living is killing us," "born again pessimist," "doomscrolling" and "be very afraid."
The 11-track effort is said to find Architects affixing electronic and industrial elements to their heavy sound, a direction shown with the anthemic "tear gas" which you can hear below alongside a music video.
Architects will also take their latest on tour in North America later this year. Ahead of supporting Biffy Clyro in Ireland and the UK in November, the band will play 24 headlining dates on the continent in September and October.
Two Canadian dates will bring Architects to Toronto's Rebel on September 16, before a stop at Montreal's MTELUS theatre the following night (September 17). You can find the complete tour itinerary below, while tickets are now on sale via the band's official website.
