Big day for people who were annoying in middle school: the trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians is here. The series is set to arrive on Disney+ on December 20.
Whereas the contentious movies from the 2010s didn't follow the novels, author Rick Riordan has been closely involved with the upcoming series. It will follow 12-year-old Percy (Walker Scobell) finding out he's the son of Poseidon, and his quest to return Zeus's stolen lightning bolt.
The trailer introduces the main characters to a very dramatic, overwhelming cover of Vance Joy's "Riptide" by Stealth, but otherwise, it already looks better than the old movies. Though we guess that depends on how you feel about Lin-Manuel Miranda, who makes a cameo. Watch it below.
