Tired of Endless Remakes and Reboots? Yes? Too Bad, Here's the New 'Road House' Trailer

You'll eat your slop and you'll enjoy it!

Do you remember Road House? The critically panned 1989 movie where Patrick Swayze plays a troubled-hero bar bouncer who rips people's throats out in small-town Missouri? Regardless of your answer, does that sound like the kind of movie that needs a gritty, dimly lit smash-em-up remake starring Jake Gyllenhaal? Again, your answer doesn't really matter — it's happening whether you like it or not.

Today, we get the first trailer for Road House, a Doug Liman-directed remake of Rowdy Herrington's goofy action flick that stars Jake Gyllenhaal as struggling former UFC fighter Elwood Dalton (a jaunty update on the original movie's James Dalton) who's hired to bounce a bar in the Florida Keys that's being terrorized by outlaws and bikers, including a bloodthirsty meathead played by mixed martial artist (and seemingly pretty bad person) Conor McGregor.

He's also going up against a developer who's looking to turn the bar into a luxe resort, which is the sort of corny '80s plot point that I can actually sort of appreciate.

The film also stars Jessica Williams, Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro (otherwise known as Jaime from Broad City), Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp and Bob Menery.
