After delaying production due to worldwide shutdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic, the crew of Netflix's The Witcher have announced plans to return to work this summer.
Production is scheduled to start in the U.K. on August 17, according to Twitter. The streaming platform embodied the bard earlier today for the announcement, bringing the news by way of rhyme:
The massively successful series was shut down back in March for pandemic-related safety issues. Back in November, The Witcher was renewed for its second season, even before the first instalment made it to streaming.
Earlier this year, it was projected that the second season would be scheduled to arrive sometime in 2021. Hopefully, this months-long setback hasn't affected its release schedule too much.
Henry Cavill will, of course, be returning as Geralt of Rivia for the live-action series' Season 2, alongside Anya Chalotra reprising her role as Yennefer, Freya Allan returning as Ciri and Joey Batey as Jaskier the Bard, among others. Kim Bodina will also be taking on the role of Vesemir, the mentor of Geralt of Rivia.
Meanwhile, we are still waiting on Netflix's animated spinoff, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
